It was early morning…the air cool and crisp with the spring air, scented with newly bloomed cherry blossoms on the trees that grew along the cafes fence. The woman was seated at one of the cast iron tables, a cup of coffee and lemon poppy muffin sitting in front of her, a paperback copy of Dorian Grey open in her lap. Lilith had taken a moment from reading to look up and onto the street before her, the sunlight playing on still wet leaves and blades of grass in the park across the street. At least the rain had stopped…the world could finally show just how beautiful spring could be…She drew in a deep breath and smiled at the way it filled her lungs. This was definitely her favorite time of year. A small group of birds fluttered over from the park and perched themselves in the tree closest to her. Lilith looked up at them, intrigued by their interesting yellow and red coloring. With slow movements she pulled her small still-frame color capture image device and snapped a quick photograph of the creatures. Replacing the camera, she watched a moment more, sipped her coffee and returned once again to reading her book.

It was finally her day off, a small break in her hectically scheduled life. Sitting at a small cafe off of the main street in Boston, Drusilla Scarborough sat watching the beautiful day dry off from the horrid rain they had been experiencing on and off all week.
Taking a small sip of coffee and smiling at the taste as the perfectly brewed drink tingled her taste buds, she listened to the birds chirping and small talk of the other customers.
Watching everyone's mannerisms was a favorite past time of hers. The couple across the aisle from her for instance, she could tell the taller male was very finicky about everything, always wanting everything to be perfect by the way he was constantly rearranging his napkin, fork, and tea cup. The other male he was with was laid back and saw everything as a joke going by the constant small grin on his face and his handkerchief hanging out of his pocket unfolded and slightly crimped. It was obvious that the two were together by the way they were reacting to each other.
The other customer was a few tables away, a female who was alone like herself, reading a book and taking pictures of the aforementioned birds. Tilting her head, Drusilla read the title of the book and smiled wide. Dorian Grey? An amazing read.
Waving to catch the woman's eye, she said loud enough for her to hear "I love the book you are reading!"

Lilith saw the woman wave and smiled bright as she spoke of the book in her hands. She laughed light, "You know Mr. Dorian as well?" The distance between them wasn't enough to cause any shouting or raised voices. She noticed the couple sitting not far from her, the two of them chatting and not bothered at all by her voice in the air, "He is definitely a twisted fellow, but such a fulfilling read." she brought her eyes back to the women again and grinned, seeing that she too saw the two decent looking men. Lilith always enjoyed watching same sex couples court each other...not that she didn't pay attention to straight couples. Gay men were just so...cute...

Smiling Cornelius walk to the coffee shop. This had been the frst day of Boston having sun since the seemingly never ending rains. He pulled at his light brown suit jacet as he arrived. He smiled seeing the two men eating together and then nodded a hello to the lady reading Dorian Grey and the other who was talking to her. Cornelius walked to the counter ordering his favorite Mint tea and a bagel and took a seat at one a the tables close to the door, that was washed in sunlight.
As he sipped the tea and ate he looked to the birds and chuckled. "I will need to get a picture, they are very lovely birds." he said thinking of making one that would acompany his new doll that he had in the store. The little red haired doll was nearly complete and would be on the shelf in his store by nightfall, the little bird he would add later.
Cory reclined in the chair watching the obvious gay couple talk softly and he smiloed more. The couple was very adorable and seemed perfect for each other.
