Lyra walked to the counter. "Hello may I please get a cup of black coffee and a chocolate latte." she said the young man nodding then walking to get the order. Lyra laid the money on the counter before walking back to Reika sitting down.
"He'll have it right out." she said with a small taking her top hat off setting it off to the side of the table.

She turned to smile up at Lyra, taking in in her suroundings, listening to the tones and movement. She held her hands tight in front of her, clenching her shaking hands not wanting her still strong nervousness.
"Tell me a little about your home here," She looked out the window again, "I would love to know more about this beautiful place."

Lyra gave the boy a tip when he delivered the drinks. "Oh well I live at home with my father. My older brother Cornelius has an apartment." she closed her eyes with a smile as she sipped the drink. Candlewick was the best coffee shop in down.
"I'm a scientist mainly. I like to invent every so often. Always have the clocks and clogs moving in my head." Lyra sat back looking outside into the slowly darkening night. She was working on a new little experiment she just needed to get a few things to fix it up and test it.

She sipped the drink, watching the woman before her, intriuged. All of the people around seemed as though they would be well educated, so unlike the enviroment she was accostumed to.
"A scientinst really?" She couldn't help a smile at how inadequate she felt, "That is incredible." Reika felt at a loss, there was so much to take in.
"1947... the war...," She was mainly talking to herself, staring out the window again.

"The Germans won, but they can't break our spirit." Lyra said turning back to Reika. "How is you coffee?" she asked sipping hers again. Reika was truly a nice woman, and interesting to talk to.

The chair scooted slightly as she sat back, she fought to control her expression though she knew she had to look shocked. To think that the Germans had won the second world war, Reika looked around them, noticing the subtle influences around them. The hot coffe stung her lip as she took another drink, though she did not wince or flinch.
"It, the coffee, is fantastic really," She looked up, "May i ask, this will sound rediculous to you, but," she took a moment trying to think of any excuse why an american would have heard of the war but not known the outcome.
"See I've been living out in the country for the last few years, we don't have any access to public media out there. What exactly happened?" Reika prayed her lie would stick, for now at least, perhaps if this Lyra became a good friend before they found their way home again she would tell her the truth.

Lyra thought for a second but frowned. "To tell you the truth I really didn't pay much attention sorry. Lilith though would know more then I." she said shrugging slightly. She also had only been in Boston about a year, since her father had decided to move them up from Georgia. "Tell me more about yourself. What is your career?" she asked

Lyra watched as the stars and moon became more prominent. Her drink was finished to he delight as she stood. Her eyes stopped on the two men from before. "Miss Reika I think I see your friend." she said giving a small bow of her head to her. She was needing to get back to her home before she worried her father to a heart attack. "Well miss. I do hope things turn to your favor, but I must depart and hurry home. I want to work some on my experiment." she slipped her top hat back on and grabbed her small purse turning and walking from the quiet cafe. She waved to the two tall men walking past them and pointing towards the cafe where REika was. "If you are looking for Miss Reika she is in Candlewick drinking a cup of coffee." she said bowing her head before she turned once more to make her way back to her town home.

She had just thought of a clever lie to answer the blonde with, but stood at the woman's statement. Following her to the door, Reika watched her walk past her dear friend. A sigh of relief sank through her shoulders at the sight of him. Though she immediately tensed again seeing the other walking next to him, wary and uncertain of the situation she had gotten herself into.
