The warmth of the evening sun was fading, the dockmaster lighting the lamps as light fell into the horizon. Blazing colors slashing at the sky, the cool breeze coming off the soft waves of the bay. She sat on her trunk, taking in the scenery, also waiting for oportunity.
She had wanted to be on the sea again soon, and would leave on her own if it weren't for lack of funds and crew. Finally she rose, modest dress moving lightly around her. Lenora made her way indoors, though the location was less than reputable. The wooden floor was stained by spilled drink and food, the smell was no better. However it was the blunt honesty of the location that drew her in, as well as the fantasic smell of the food wafting from the backdoors of the establishment.
She siddled down at a table close to the door, her trunk under her legs. It was a rather busy night by the looks and sound of things, it would be some time before she would be serviced. Nothing out of the ordinary, Lenora was perfectly accustomed to it.

He had found himself here before; like so many it was the smell that always drew him in. Like a moth to the flame he would gorge on the familiar flavors of his favorite food in the world...pizza...though they didn't call it that here. In this time they called it pie and it was made thicker then what he was used to. Not that he was really that bothered. It tasted and smelled fantastic as always.
He was onto his third pitcher of beer for the night...not that it was really making him funny. Beer was more like water to him...the harder stuff is what he really needed to get piss drunk. That wasn't the goal tonight. In fact...he didn't really have a goal in mind at all. Well maybe one...finish the pizza in front of him.
He was lifting another slice of it to his mouth when she caught his eye...a woman who looked like any other...all accept the way she carried herself...he took a huge bite and watched her from his corner, swallowing down the goopey cheese and meat heaven. She seemed like she knew exactly who she was...not a doubt in her mind or behind those awesome eyes.

She didn't have to wait long before the flighty waitress made her way to her. She ordered the day's catch special, not caring at all exactly what the meal would entail as well as a pitcher of ale. She turned her gaze back to scanning, feeling a heat on her like eyes burning on her. She found the one guilty,in a shadowed corner, a slice of pie in hand, the cheese dripping. It was hard to take the gaze from the dark seriously as he ate with his hands, gloves still on, . She scoffed at the idea, dirty leather on your food, not where she comes from.
She didn't feel as threatened as she should have been, which was odd in and of itself. A young woman in such a roudy establishment should surely be on edge. She averted her gaze from his, smiling to the waitress ale in hand. Lenora took it gracefully, trying not to guess if his eyes were still on her. She had to strain not to look until her food came, taking up as much of her attention as she could manage by studying the beverage in front of her and the low quality of the mug it was in.

He continued to watch her, finishing his food once and for all and ordering more beer. He could imagine in his mind the way she would sound if she ventured near enough to catch his ears. Even with his heightened hearing it was hard to pin point exact voices in the crowded place. She finally looked his way and the look in her eyes said she was nearly disgusted by him. He chuckled dark and kept his eyes on her. He never really cared what people thought...instead he liked to keep pushing their buttons to see what would happen...like now...
The pitcher came and he drank straight from it, leaving the glass he was using empty and on his worried napkin.

She felt as though she had an audience, somehow his gaze visible in the corner of her sight. She couldn't take it, she stood, slamming her mug down on the table. A hand caught the waitress in passing speaking close to her ear. Her trunk came ripping out from under the table by her hand, storming over to the stranger's table in the corner.
"Pardon me sir, is there something wrong," She waved her hand in front of her, pointing at her jewelry and the tribal gift she wore under her bangs, "Is there something on my face you have a problem with?" With the volume of the crowd the thud of her trunk dropping from her hand would have been more satisfying to her ears, the slam of her mug on his table would have to sufice. She leaned foward almost frowning at him as the waitress scurried over to set the ale on the table in front of her.

"No ma'am. No problem. Just like how flustered you are right now." he chuckled deep and set his pitcher down, "The name is Tony." and he extended his hand. He wasn't sure if she would take it but he was curious enough to try.

Back straight eyes narrow, that was how she dealt with those who had a problem with her display of culture. Though this man surprised her, he could easily be lying to get her even more, 'flustered' as it were. She quirked an eyebrow at the chill his voice sent down her spine, something more hiding behind the visage in front of her. Her eyes fell to his offered hand, She took it after a moment of consideration, gretting him with firm handshake she was accustomed to after being around her father and his squadron.
"Lenora," She took the seat across from him, kicking her trunk under her legs again and pouring another mug of Ale from her pitcher, "how long have you been in Boston, Mr. Tony?" the waitress came again a steaming plate of delicious smelling breaded fish on a bed of mashed potatoes gretting her senses. A hand delved into the pocket of her dress pulling out a rectagular wooden case, she cracked it open and removed her own eating utensils.
She smiled taking a good smell of the food, "It's always the most unlikely of places that you find the best food,"

He was surprised at the strength in her hand shake and he beamed opening his mouth to answer her question, "Not long enough honestly. I don't really belong in a town like this really." he decided to pour his beer into the glass now and did so with ease. Her comment on the food in front of her made him smile even more, thinking of Reika's pizza place back where he really belonged, "I would toast to that...if you don't mind." he lifted his glass to her.

She covering her mouth with her hand as she finished her last bite in a hurry.
"A worthy toast, most of the friends I have made were in establiments like this one" She raised her mug to tap his, throwing back a mouthful, "Where do you hail from if I may ask." She watched his face as she continued eating, amazed at how blue his eyes were. It was rare to see truely blue eyes, set apart from grey and hazel.

He took a drink as well, "A long goddamn way from here." he set the mug down and sat back in his chair, arms crossed over his broad chest, "So far away most people don't even know it exists." he looked down a moment and back up, flashing a grin. But his heart still sat heavy, aching for his home and comfort zone. This place was so different from everything he ever knew...

She nodded lightly, the corners of her mouth lifted in a light smile. She knew how it felt to be so far from home, after leaving India after the war it was extreme culture shock coming back to the former US of A. Her mug hit the table after another gulp of ale, a pleasant buzz planting itself.
"I'm from a similar place, tell me what it's like there," Her curiosity was always one of her weaknesses. she leaned foward over the table, her chin resting on her hands, watching him.
